Adaptation
Adaptation is a normal response to abnormal stressors that change the body's infrastructure in order to best function on a short-term basis.
Any distortion produces a measurable "out-of aline-ment" state. Your body adapts to a distortion from accidents, misuse or abuse that exceeds the natural elastic limits of your body's muscles or other parts. This adaptive state reduces your body's level of function by limiting structural integrity. This gradual adaptation to stress can, and does, lead to chronic health problems which manifest slowly over time.
Every organ and body system has its rightful place and -function. The adaptive process causes organs to give up a portion of their optimal functioning ability for self-preservation, or survival of the body as a unit or whole.
